Nothing like free skateboards to get the kiddies reading, right? Now although we can’t guarantee that they’ll actually read the books, publishing giant, Penguin Classics, has the right idea in mind! The company is sponsoring a photo contest that’ll reward 3 lucky winners with custom “book cover” decks. All you have to do to enter is submit a photo posing with a Penguin Classic title and a skateboard. Now THIS is a cool summer reading list!

STFU. These will make beautiful shelves.

Penguin Books

Running alongside the Eric Ravilious exhibition at the RWA (see earlier post) they also had on an excellent exhibition on Penguin Books.

As well as the usual Design Classics they had lots of early editions, rarities, original artwork and even a specially designed table called “The Donkey” to store your collection of Penguin Classics. We can’t think of a better place to rest a mug of tea!

Well worth a visit.

I want this for my birthday.
